Cookie policy

Last updated: 3rd October 2025

In this document we explain how we use cookies in the Provet.com Service and how the user may manage and monitor the use of cookies.

What are cookies?

Our webpages use cookies to improve the service. A cookie is a small text file, which is sent to the user's device when the user visits the webpage. Cookies do not cause harm to the users' devices or files.

What do we use cookies for?

We use cookies to improve the usability of the Provet.com Service. With cookies we can collect information about the use of the Service and about the end devices and web browsers of the users visiting the webpage. Cookies can make it easier for you to use the Service. The cookie data we use is anonymous and cannot be connected to a particular individual.

Cookies used by the Provet.com Service

Cookies can be divided by duration or purpose of use. Session specific cookies will function from the moment the browser is opened until it is closed. When the user closes the browser, the cookies are deleted automatically. Permanent cookies have a predetermined time of use and will remain in the browser until the time of use is reached or the user deletes the cookies.

We use cookies in the following classes:

Required cookies

Required cookies are important for the basic functions of our webpage: functions and technical actions without which the webpage cannot function. These cookies cannot be removed from use.

Name of cookie Description of purpose of use Time of storage
__Secure-next-auth.session-token (Session token) This is the primary authentication cookie. Once you log in, this cookie is used to recognize your session on subsequent visits and keep you logged in. It acts as a key to identify your active session with our server. This is a session cookie and is deleted when you close your web browser.
__Host-next-auth.csrf-token (Provet) This cookie is used to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. It contains a unique, secret value that your browser sends with your requests. Our server checks this value to ensure that actions (like changing your password or submitting a form) are genuinely initiated by you and not by a malicious website. This is a session cookie and is deleted when you close your web browser.
__Secure-next-auth.callback-url This cookie stores the URL of the page you were trying to access before being asked to log in. After you successfully authenticate, it redirects you back to your original intended page, providing a seamless user experience. This is a temporary cookie that is typically deleted immediately after a successful login.
AWSALB This cookie helps our website handle visitor traffic. It makes sure you stay connected to the same server during your visit so that the site works smoothly for you. One week
AWSALBCORS This cookie does the same thing as the AWSALB cookie but is used for special cases to ensure different parts of our website can work together correctly. One week

We use statistical cookies to follow the actions of people visiting our webpage and to do analyses which help us optimize our webpage. This means that we can develop our service to be better and to serve our users better.

Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies help us and our trusted partners place targeted advertising on the websites of companies participating in marketing cooperation. These cookies are mostly set by advertising environment providers (such as Facebook and Google). With marketing cookies, we can enrich the information used for marketing targeting with data obtained from third parties. This allows us to offer benefits and marketing that better meet your needs. For targeted advertising, we use, for example, Google's and Facebook's advertising and tracking services.
